Onion
& Gram Flour Veggie (Marathi: Kandyachi Peeth Perun Bhaji)
Description : This is a fast and easy vegetarian recipe that can be made with onions and gram flour. You can extract very nice flavors, turns out to be a good option and can be served with Roti/Chapatti (Indian bread).
I did refer to couple of sites as I wanted something that is traditional but at the same time suits the fast urban lifestyle. I got a good reference on Sanjeev Kapoor’s site link, however I made my alterations to it so that it suits my purpose and available stock of dry onions at the home :)

If you don’t have readymade
paste, use a homemade paste or finely chopped garlic. I prefer to use fresh
garlic and make a paste for the required recipe.

Utensils
1. Fry Pan with Lid
2. Spatula
Procedure
1. Heat a pan on low flame. Pour oil (or
use non-salted butter) and let it get warm-up.
2. Add curry leaves, mustard and cumin seeds to
the warm oil. If you are using a shallow pan, remember to cover it. The oil splutters and this will reduce the clean-up time J
3. When they splutter, add garlic paste and ginger
paste. Sauté it for around a minute.
4. Add onion and green chilies, and sauté till the onion turns golden brown in colour. This should take around 2-3 minutes.
5. Now add salt, turmeric, coriander powder
into the pan and mix it till it becomes uniform. Let it cook for another one
minute.
6. Add gram flour and mix it well. Add some water
and let it cook.
7. If you feel that it is getting dry, add some
more water to it.
8. Cover the pan with lid (while on low flame)
for about 2 minutes.
9. Remove from heat and serve with any meal.
